The Lucky One

Let me start by saying that four boys, four car seats, one pram, four bags of luggage and six carry-on's, isn't neccessarily a recipe for a relaxing plane trip!

Nevertheless, we have made it to Wellington! The place I called home until I was 15. The place that still feels like home now.

The boys absolutely loved being on an airplane and the look of excitement in Phoenix's eyes when the plane started off the runway is a memory I'll always cherish. Getting to the gate at Sydney airport however, not so great a memory. But as my husband pointed out to me - that's the reality of travelling with children!

Which brings me to the topic of that husband of mine. I really am the lucky one in this relationship. He brings an anchor and a calmness to our family that my wild temper always seems to get the better of. Walking to the boarding gate at Sydney airport with four kids under five was quite the ordeal, but made so much easier by the man who stands at my side. I truly made the best decision of my life when I chose to marry him for time and all eternity.

I think this picture says it all:
