A Girl Can Dream

I hate to admit it, but I'm a Kardashian fan. It's staged, overly dramatic, and everything in between, but I am hooked. The show is a marketers dream, because people like me watch the show and pay close attention to the furnishings, clothing and the like.

In the current season of the show I recently saw the 'Bloom Frescho Chrome Baby Chair'. Isn't it stunning!  Imagine my excitement when I saw that Babyology were running a promotion and giving one away. It had to be a sign! I don't usually enter any competitions because I never win, but I entered this one. I sat in anticipation for the day the winner was announced. Well, I didn't win.

I could sit here and go on about all the benefits of the chair, but you can go to their site for that. For me, it just looks beautiful! I shouldn't be suprised, Bloom Baby have a beautiful range. If I could afford it, I would set up my whole nursery with their collection. I have their Stylewood Baby Rocker (another 'Kardashian inspired purchase'), and it is by far one of my best 'baby' purchases. I'm guttered that McCaw is getting older and too big for it!

But as for the Fresco Chrome, given it retails for $899 in Australia, I won't be getting one anytime soon. But hey, a girl can dream right?

Fathers Day

Just over a fortnight ago it was Fathers Day. My boys are still a little young to really appreciate the day, but I ordered them personalised tops from one of my favourite sites 'Tiny Me' in an attempt to make the day extra special.

I had planned to take photos of the boys in their t-shirts myself (when am I going to accept that taking fabulous photos is not one of my assets?), however thankfully a few nights before the day I was chatting to some friends who have started their own photography business, and they took the photos for me the (click here to see their facebook page)!! Kingston was not a happy camper though, but it wouldn't feel right if I took photos and all my boys were co-operating!

For the day itself, we made Rick and my Dad breakfast, then went to the airport to see aunty Jaslyn and Max off. Rick misplaced the parking ticket and we were stuck paying the $50 maximum rate - Happy Fathers Day to him (he actually found the ticket a few minutes later, but they wouldn't return the fee)! We then had lunch with Ricks family, and finished off the night with a nice quiet evening at home. I really am becoming more appreciative of our time at home these days!

A Pram ...

To say I'm a little obsessed with the Bugaboo prams might be a slight understatement. There are many 'fabulous things' I have been introduced to for my children and this is by far my absolute favorite. They are definitely pricey and our money could probably be spent on more important things, but I think some things really are worth the money and the investment!

When I was pregnant with Cassius, as a newbie to the world of motherhood I was completely unaware of just how many choices there are out there! My sister in law Morgana told me about this pram that all the celebrities had. (It makes me laugh at how things have changed, as these days, I am very aware of what the current trends are in the celebrity baby world!) But having no idea at that time, I went online to have a look. When I first saw the price I thought - were they kidding? Who in the world would pay that for a pram? I laughed out loud, and my mum who was nearby asked what I was doing. I showed her the pictures, told her the price and laughed off the illusion of having one. A few days later my mum called me - her and my Dad had decided to buy me a bugaboo for my firstborn! My parents are pretty awesome like that :)

And so my love affair with the pram began. When I told Rick he thought it was silly of me to let my parents spend that on a pram, but his opinion would soon change. These days, he will readily admit it was probably the best thing purchased for our kiddies - the ease of movement is second to none. And a year after Cassius was born, when I was pregnant with Phoenix, I wanted the smaller version of the pram (the bugaboo bee), and he didn't need any persuading - I asked him if we could get it and I got a yes straight away.

Last year saw the launch of their double pram - the Donkey, which is probably what I need for my little tongans! But I thought I would be good and make do with what we have, plus I am a big fan of the bee - it's more compact and so is by far my favorite. We went to baby Kingdom last month to get the adapters for the baby capsule to fit the pram, and while there I saw the limited edition all black bee plus! It was beautiful and twenty per cent off so surely that was a sign right!??! I looked at Rick and said 'I really like this!' ... We walked out that day having purchased our third pram - Told you I'm a big fan! xx

Ps - Whilst I'm pretty sure I only have a couple of people who actually read this lol, if I come across as boastful then please know that is not my intention, I just like writing and chatting about these sorts of things xx

Fabulous Things ...

My husband likes to tell me that I dont live in reality sometimes (regarding our finances). For example, when Cassius was born, the pram we had probably cost more then the car we drove! lol But to that I say who cares!!

I have come to the conclusion that people just spend their money in different ways. To some it is important to own a home, to others to have the latest car, the latest clothing etc. Me? I just love to shop! Rick once told me that I would make the perfect wife for a rich man. I'm not sure whether to take that as a complement or an insult? I'll go with complement for now :)

So I find myself constantly searching the internet, looking for 'beautiful pieces' and so forth, the majority of which I can't afford!! And whilst I know that material things are not the most important thing in life ... Oh how I love a beautiful piece of baby clothing :)

And so with this is mind, here are a few of my favorite things, the majority of which relate to my children. That's one of the great things about being a mother, there's an endless supply of beautiful things to get!

These beautiful blankets were introduced to me recently by my fabulous cousin Keri, a recent addition to the 'mother' club. Keri probably enjoys shopping more then myself, which I LOVE as I know when it comes to buying things we probably shouldn't - Keri will understand lol. Even as I write this we are messaging each other regarding the current winter trends in baby clothing :)

The blankets are hand made in our native NZ, and come in various felt colors with ribbons attached to the ends. I'm currently waiting on my 'personalised' order right in time for my newest addition! I always get excited when having a new baby, as it means I can get some of things I either couldn't afford with the previous, or just didn't know about!

These are by far the best baby wraps I have ever used! I discovered them whilst shopping in Berry when Cassius was about a month old, and fell in love instantly. I have used them for all my babies and have just received another order to be used for my newest addition! They are muslin wraps so really breathable, and measure 120cm x 120cm - a lot larger then other wraps that's for sure. I also love that they have a 'crink' (is that even a word?) in them, which means that even after they are washed they still looked new! Don't you hate when you wash a blanket and it has that 'used' look to it? You don't get that with these :) And if I haven't persuaded you yet - check out how many celebrities use them - now there's an incentive :)

Bugaboo Prams

Bugaboo's are quite simply, the Best. Prams. Ever! But I will write more in a future post xx

Coco Bloom Baby Lounger

Since becoming a mother and 'housewife', I find I now pay more attention to what's in the 'background', and what items celebrities use. And so one day as I was watching Kourtney and Khloe take Miami (yes I watch stupid things on tv), I saw in the background this beautiful wooden rocking chair that Kourtney had for her son Mason. And so I enlisted the help of Google and discovered the 'Coco Bloom'. Isn't it a beautiful piece of furniture! Kingston was already a few months old at the time, and I couldn't justify the spend since it's only used for the first six months of babies life. But now that I am having my fourth (McCaw), (as previously mentioned, there are lots of perks to having more children!), I can finally getting one! Exciting times ahead :)

Personalised Lunch Bags

Sometimes I really wonder what I did before online shopping! There is just so many things you can get and these bags are an example of such! I ordered some for my boys and they absolutely LOVE them! They are their special bags for 'church' and I find they add a little bit of excitement to the church going routine! Check out their website as they offer so much more ... I know money doesn't make you happy, but it sure does help ha ha xx

More Coming Soon xx
